Whenever I’m at third door, I don’t want to do anything but stare at the trees and bird-watch from the patio. I go here because my sister is working on the cabin and wants some company. I bring my laptop, journal, and a couple of books (used to be 5). I think, “Okay, I’ll be productive.”
This cabin warps time into a long rest. There’s no breeze. Every needle on these pine trees hold still. But I can feel the cool air enter through the windows.
My bedroom looks more like an art studio than a place to sleep. I’ve been bouncing between the office, working on a temporary installation, preparing for a creative class, and adjusting since I moved out of the Flower House (where I had a temporary summer studio). So it’s nice to get away for a few hours.
Mini Creative Retreat/Gathering
For a long time, I’ve been wanting to loosely host a laid-back, creative / research retreat here — for one day. This cabin is about 2 hours north of LA, so if you’d like to get on the waitlist, feel free to reply back.
